Love

music: Misty
mood: Torn

"You should've forgiven me," he said, as he grabbed the doorknob. She ran over and put her hand on the door.
"I'll forgive you now," she said. He looked at her coldly, and shook his head. "Please."
"I don't think so. You threw me out over one stinking cookie, and if I was still poor, you'd be shitting on me just the same. As much as I love you, I can't let you get away with that."
She touched his hand. "You know I always let you back. Come on, let's not change now."
But it was different this time, and he wasn't going to give in, for if he did, he would be her patsy forever. That was enough before, but now he had a chance to be somebody, and he wasn't throwing that away, not for her, or anyone.
"You should've forgiven me."
He didn't wait for a response. There was really nothing she could say.

Strange times are good times

music: Happy Days Are Here Again
mood: jubilant

So sure, President Bush is running this country into the ground, but isn't he the nicest evil genius you ever have seen? I don't know what they put in the water, but it's been nothing but laughs with GW in charge. But you've heard all those old gags: the good news is he's got three more years to bring us the satiric opportunities needed by comedy writers throughout the land. All you sad-sacks still lamenting all those deaths here and there, it's time to turn that frown upside down. I'm so glad to be living in interesting times.
